One arrest is made at a DUI checkpoint (National City)

NATIONAL CITY — Police arrested one driver on suspicion of driving under the influence during a checkpoint conducted Friday night.
The checkpoint was operated on Mile of Cars Way from 8 p.m to about 2 a.m. During that time, police said, 360 drivers passed through the checkpoint, 39 vehicles were sent to a secondary inspection area and four field sobriety tests were conducted.
Twenty-two motorists were cited for various driving offenses and 19 vehicles were towed.
