PACIFIC BEACH – Police yesterday arrested a man suspected of stabbing a motorist who yelled at him for walking across the street too slowly.
The suspect was walking across Garnet Avenue just before 2 a.m. when the motorist told him to hurry up.
Instead, the pedestrian kicked the victim’s car and the two argued, San Diego police said. The man, who police said is in his early 20s, leaned into the driver’s window and stabbed the victim several times in the chest and ran.
The victim chased him into an alley south of Garnet Avenue, where the two fought. A San Diego police sergeant spotted the men and arrested the suspected stabber at gunpoint. The knife was found under a car parked in the alley, police said.
The victim was treated at a hospital and released.
