Woman steps out of taxi into path of motorcycle in Pacific Beach
October 4, 2007 2 CommentsSAN DIEGO – A woman who police said was intoxicated was seriously hurt in Pacific Beach early Thursday morning when she got out of the back of a taxicab and stepped into the path of a motorcycle.Police said the woman, who is in her 20s, closed the door, turned and walked into oncoming traffic on Riviera Drive near Fortuna Avenue about 12:40 a.m., police said.
She was hit by a Harley-Davidson motorcycle driven by a 26-year-old man who was heading south on Riviera Drive. The motorcyclist was unhurt. The woman was dragged a short distance. Police said she suffered head injuries and several cuts and had to be hospitalized.
