SAN DIEGO — San Diego State University and a Pacific Beach business group launched a campaign yesterday intended to reduce drinking and driving.
The merchant association Discover Pacific Beach said at least 20 bars and restaurants in Mission Beach and Pacific Beach will participate in the program, called “Who’s Your DD?” Food and beverage servers will ask patrons who their designated driver is before serving them drinks.
The program is being directed through SDSU under a four-year, $4 million research study.
