Man assaulted outside Pacific Beach bar
October 29, 2009 No CommentsPACIFIC BEACH, Calif. – San Diego police are asking for the public’s help in finding three men wanted in connection with an assault in Pacific Beach that sent a man to the hospital with broken bones in his neck.
The victim and two of his friends intervened in an argument going on between one of the suspects and a woman outside Pacific Beach Bar and Grill at 860 Garnet Ave. around 1:35 a.m. Sept. 30, San Diego police spokeswoman Monica Munoz said.
Bar employees broke up the dispute and sent both parties away in separate directions. A short time later, as the victim and his friends walked past the southeast driveway of the Denny’s restaurant on Garnet, the victim was struck from behind with an unknown object. Munoz said one of the victim’s friend turned around and saw the same man from the argument outside the bar running away with something in is hands.
The attacker was running toward two of his friends, who appeared to be videotaping the incident, according to Munoz.
The three suspects were last seen heading eastbound in a nearby alley in a black import sedan with tinted windows and chrome rims.
