Pacific Beach DUI Checkpoint Yields Nineteen Arrests
March 14, 2010 3 CommentsThis blog author witnessed a DUI checkpoint here in Pacific Beach last night which ended at 3 am. Many dedicated San Diego Police officers worked in very chilly weather screening over 1,000 drivers. All told 19 drunk drivers were taken off the road – potentially saving very avoidable disasters.
Two people ran the checkpoint putting officers lives in danger. In my mind these drivers should be charged with some level of criminal endangerment of a peace officer as there could have been a real tragedy had one of these two idiots – as they were speeding through the checkpoint – may have swerved into the officers and seriously injured one or many of them.
Pacific Beach continues to dominate the news with an abnormally high number of drunk drivers caught in these checkpoints. Click here for a chart illustrating this issue.
Crime and Safety, Drunk Drivers

Updated with actual numbers – 19 – wow!
Hey likewise :)
Turned out to be pretty productive – about 14 all told – haven’t confirmed yet.
