Planning Group Discusses Alternatives and CUP
June 14, 2010 2 CommentsThe Pacific Beach Planning Group (PBPG) held a public forum tonight where the Alcohol License Review Committee (ALRC) could present evidence of a system that appears to be broken.
Here are the three presentations. Also, see below for the video of the entire 1.5 hour meeting so you can understand more and stay involved.
Here is the visual presentation we created and showed prior to the forum illustrating the many problems we’ve been experiencing. Here’s more that didn’t make cut but, good to see.
Here is the presentation by the ALRC committee of the PBPG. Here’s a copy of their handout (updated 6/16/10). Use both with video below.
Here is the presentation by Officer Donswyk from the Ventura Police Department regarding their Conditional Use Permit. Use with video below.
And here is the post we put up some time ago which contains all the Ventura Conditional Use Permit (CUP) materials which I confirmed tonight are all current.
This is a complete video of the meeting.
The first approximate 25 minutes is about the laws and crime, the next 15 minutes covers ABC process and restaurant morphing issues, the next approximate 20 minutes regards comparative communities and the Ventura CUP and the remaining time covers conclusions and public comment. All told the video is about 1 hour 45 minutes.
Here’s community member comments:
Here’s Channel 10′s coverage of the forum. Here’s Channel 51′s coverage. All major news operations were at the event and we’ll post their stories as soon as available.

The Ventura Police Officer’s presentation offers a NEW way to get our ABC challenged City back “On Course”; I urge everyone to forward a copy to their Councilmember and the Mayor ASAP.
