Last Night in Pacific Beach
June 13, 2011 2 CommentsThis video is of a variety of things seen yesterday, Saturday evening in Pacific Beach… All after 12:30 am no less.

Here’s some questions one might consider:
- When people are urinating on business storefronts who is negatively affected? The bar patrons or the customers that visit in the daytime? Who cleans this up?
- Why is a fire engine called in to Pacific Beach to put out – ironically a fire – while the PB fire engine, ladder truck and ambulance are responding to urgent alcohol-related injuries and traumas?
- Who is paying for all the police, fire and rescue and emergency medical services?
- How’s the guy doing who had his head bashed in near the corner of Garnet Ave. and Everts St.?
- Just what is the Discover PB Hospitality “Task Force” doing to address these consistent problematic issues? Holding PR events presenting bicycles for the police is hardly an adequate response for the myriad of issues you see here.Perhaps we should change the name of this ‘task force’ to task farce? Problem is, this farce is neglecting the myriad of problems they are causing other good business operators, residents and importantly the many people being injured or killed in Pacific Beach.

Urination, trash, broken bottles, cigarettes, drunk drivers, fights, killings.
How about the noise from loud drunks coming home from the bars? I awoke the other night 3AM a girl screaming from a fight with a boyfriend. She is sitting outside on the curb waking everyone up in the neighborhood.
When is PB going to wake up?
The amount the City makes from all these bars(there was suppose to be a cap on amount of bars a long time ago)is made up by all the fire trucks, ambulance and helicopters babysitting drunks. Someone paid someone off…I guess we are getting just like Mexico paying mordida for what the inconsiderate, rude youth want against laws.
Now today I heard we are no longer getting the DUI traps in PB. Why not? I would think that would just be a safety issue prevents more DUI deaths both of others and the drivers themselves. Perhaps because the cops time are taken up by babysitting these disrespectful drunks.
There is nothing good about all these bars in our wonderful little town. Outsiders come to PB to do what they won’t in their own neighborhoods so they are trashing our beautiful small beach town with many single families that have paid big bucks to live near the beach with their children as they did when they grew up.
Come on you guys lets fight hard to get our beautiful little town back to the families.
PS I would not vote for even one more bar/restaurant in PB. What happens is they come and say they are a restaurant with alcohol and pretty soon the restaurant isn’t making it and it becomes just another bar open til 2AM.
I like the video! We listen to this every holiday and even more often in the summer, as our windows may be open. Garnet is like “another world” after 10:00 PM. Noisy drunks are tripping down our street; throwing trash into our plants or worse and shattering bottles. Someone had the nerve to tell me I should move (we’ve lived here 34 years and it never use to be like this!). Oh, by the way, we live 4 blocks north of Garnet!
