Thumbs Up for California Kebab!
August 7, 2011 No CommentsHere’s a letter I sent to the San Diego Police Vice Department, the ABC as well as a number of community groups and committees (PB Town Council, Hospitality Task Force, Discover PB):
As an individual community activist and blogger, communicating with a subscriber base of approximately 250 interested folks, I am writing this letter in support of Mr. Alex Pierson and his new Pacific Beach location of his restaurant California Kebab.
Alex contacted me many months ago because he learned I was a concerned Pacific Beach resident and blogger interested in alcohol issues in Pacific Beach. He wanted to learn more about the needs discussed throughout my website and in local and regional media. I met with Alex on two occasions, spoke with him at community meetings and communicated via email throughout this time.
This opportunity is a prime example of a tremendous businessman and unique restaurant-concept that we need in Pacific Beach. Alex has proactively reached out to the community, filed his license, I believe without protest other than (which I appreciate due to our over-concentration issues) from the San Diego Police, and continued communicating with me without any requirement or need to do so. I believe his integrity is sound and his intent is to be a quality business partner with the community of Pacific Beach. I would say that we would be hard pressed to find a more ideal relationship.
Attached (below) is the business prospectus for California Kebab. Also attached is a list of ABC conditions that Alex and his partner would agree to accept, some are common boilerplate conditions while others are more restrictive, if they are granted their application.
If these conditions are indeed included in the final license documentation I will put my full faith and support in Alex, his partner and this business. I believe that many of my blog subscribers would agree as well and encourage them to do so.
If you have any concerns or questions please contact me at your convenience. I’ve also posted this letter on my website at www.pbspirits.com/thumbs-up-for-california-kebab and hope that you will leave comments there as well.
Thank you very much,
Jerry Hall
