Another DUI Crash in PB

Early this morning an drunk driver crashed and most likely totaled a parked car on Grand Ave. at Mission Blvd.
Local homeless people told me they tried to get the driver of the pickup truck to run and hide because, they reasoned, there was no one hurt.
The man was apprehended however by a police officer who was vacationing here in San Diego. San Diego Police investigated the scene, determined the driver was under the influence and arrested him.
There are far too many DUI crashes in Pacific Beach. I know of at least four crashes where cars were overturned in the last year. Another just missed pedestrians as their SUV careened down the sidewalk on Garnet Ave. as partiers were emptying from the bars.
What can we do to mitigate the high levels of DUI and drunk driving in Pacific Beach?
