Drunk man breaks into 81 Year Old PB woman’s home
November 11, 2011 No CommentsAn elderly woman in Pacific Beach woke up Friday morning to find a man in a Chargers jersey sleeping on her couch.
The 81-year-old woman, who lives in the 1300 block of Thomas Avenue, called San Diego police around 7:30 a.m. to report that man that was asleep in her living room.
The man was woken by officers and taken into custody.

And here’s my two cents. References to others are directed to people who posted in the online comments.
Would it make any difference if it was a Cincinnati Bengals fan? Because he’s a Charger’s fan it sounds like some of you are ok with him just being too drunk and did something stupid.
One might be surprised so many of you are so cavalier but, they don’t know PB’s reputation where things like this seem the norm. I’m betting if it was your mom you’d probably have different reactions. But, many would argue that ‘mom’ shouldn’t live in PB because she should’ve known what she was getting in to. My bet is this is a long-term PB resident, perhaps a widow, and she’s more than a little scared today, wondering what a monster her little beach community turned in to.
I also wonder where this guy was drinking? At a house party? In a bar? Will either the house party host or the bar be held accountable? Um, not likely.
I guess until one of our residents gets assaulted (don’t laugh, on YouTube one guy was found in another’s PB apartment passed out drunk on the bathroom floor with a pair of scissors in his hand) we’ll probably say ‘wow, we should’ve done something about this behavior’. But, I’m betting the reaction is more like ‘this is yet another example of PB Gone Wild… like it or leave’ with the mentality that the older residents should just suck it up and deal.
(I’ll drone on about all the other home break-ins by drunks in the early hours… including that guy in 2010 that stripped naked, broke in and fell asleep on a man and his wife’s couch but, if the above story doesn’t alarm you I doubt this would.)
Yes, I’m getting really pissed.
