SAN DIEGO — A 28-year-old man was seriously injured in a hit-and-run accident in Pacific Beach early Friday, police said.
The man was struck while crossing Grand Avenue near Lamont Street just before 1:30 a.m., according to San Diego police Officer David Stafford. Medics took him to a local trauma center with a broken tibia and finger, he said.
The man got out of a taxi just before he was struck by a white Toyota Yaris. Both the cab driver and the motorist who struck the man drove away before help arrived, Stafford said.
It was not immediately clear if the cab driver was aware of the accident.
